Suspension service contaminates a workbench in a way drivetrain work doesn’t. Fork oil drips off rebound-damper assemblies and onto the bench top; parts cleaner cuts into the sealant on a wood-cored surface; the dust shells from old fork seals carry abrasive grit that ends up under the next bike’s headset. A shared bench gets a layer of suspension-residue contamination within a week of being asked to do both jobs; a dedicated suspension station keeps the main bench clean and the suspension work organized at the same time.

The Unior 2600D Suspension Workbench is sized for that role: a dedicated suspension station with three trays of Unior’s suspension tools and a bench-mount repair clamp built into the workbench frame.

What’s included

  • Bench-mount repair clamp integrated into the workbench; sized for forks, shocks, and the smaller assemblies suspension service produces.
  • Three suspension-tool trays: the modular foam-tray sets the bench drawers accept, configured for fork and shock service work.

The trays cover the three sub-workflows of suspension service:

  1. General tools for servicing suspension (tray 1); the everyday tools the workflow needs alongside the suspension-specific kit.
  2. Additional general tools for suspension (tray 2); secondary items not on the primary tray.
  3. Suspension specialized tools (tray 3); the suspension-specific tools (vise mounts, seal drivers, oil syringes, damper-assembly pin spanners).

What pairs with it

A complete suspension station typically adds two more components beyond the 2600D bench:

  • The Stainless Steel Suspension Sink 990SIN; for parts cleaning at the wet bench without contaminating the main shop sink.
  • Drain plumbing to a separator tank (not a household drain); required by code in most jurisdictions when oil and parts cleaner are part of the wet workflow.

For shops without a suspension service catalog, the 2600A Professional Mechanic Workbench or 2600C Master Workbench are the general-purpose alternatives.

Built in Zreče, Slovenia

Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče, Slovenia, since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The 2600D suspension workbench shares the bench frame and the foam-tray architecture with the rest of the 2600 series, with the suspension-tool-specific tray loadouts and the integrated bench-mount clamp as the differentiators.

Pro tip from our mechanics

The biggest mistake we see with suspension workbenches is treating them as an extension of the main bench. Once oil and the abrasive dust from worn seals migrate to the drivetrain bench, the next four headset services have to fight grit they shouldn’t be working through. Keep the wet zone wet; the dry zone dry. Our broader workshop-layout guide walks through the wet-vs-dry zoning decisions: How to set up a professional bike workshop →
