Service manuals come to the bench as PDFs now, and the bench they come to is often a tablet. Reading a wiring diagram while you trace a fault, scrolling a torque table while you reach for the wrench, checking the connector pin-out before you probe; the tablet is in your hand, then on the bench, then knocked off the bench, repeatedly, across the course of a single job. The 1693EL.6 Tablet Holder mounts the tablet to the stand column at a fixed angle, where it stays in line of sight no matter where the bike sits in the lift cycle.

How it's set up

The holder mounts at a 67° angle from vertical; the angle most people read a tablet at when it's leaning against a coffee cup, which is what most people use as the default reading angle. That's not an accident; the geometry is chosen so the screen sits in the right plane for swiping with one hand while the other works the bike.

The arm itself is adjustable for tablet width, accommodating tablets from 210 mm wide up to 340 mm wide; that covers the small-format tablets up to the larger Pro / Air / Galaxy Tab S sizes. Rubber pads on the contact surface keep the tablet from scratching as you slot it in and out, which matters because you'll slot it in and out a lot.

Why fixed over folding

The 1693EL.6 is the fixed-mount option in the tablet/laptop holder pair. It sits closer to the column than the folding 1693EL.2 laptop holder and stays put; no arm to swing, no folded position to remember. The right call when the e-bike bay is the stand's job and the workflow runs the same shape every day. If you need to clear the work area for non-e-bike service, the folding option is better; if you don't, the fixed holder is one less moving part.

Built in Zreče, Slovenia

Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The 1693EL.6's mounting interface matches the stand's column directly because the holder was designed by the engineering team that designed the stand. The 67° angle and the rubber pad are spec choices that come out of the same workshop the stand was designed in, not generic adjustments from an aftermarket accessory maker.

Pro tip from our mechanics

The tablet holder is the accessory that gets used most often in our shop because the reference material that used to live on the back wall in laminated A4 sheets is now on the tablet. If you're running PDF service manuals, the tablet is in your hand all day; putting a permanent home for it on the stand column saves the count of times you'll set it down on the bike's saddle and walk away. The tablet-versus-laptop decision is one of the small workstation calls that adds up across a year of e-bike service. Sizing the stand itself first?
