Bike Book Set With Bike Tools
Bike Book Set With Bike Tools
Unior Bicycle Mechanics Book Volume 1 (English-language edition, 274 pages, covering hubs, bottom brackets, and headsets) bundled with a Unior chain tool and two green tire levers. The starter kit for the home mechanic learning the procedures the book documents; the book on the bench, the tools in hand, the same procedure visible on the page as the work happens.
Most “how to repair your bike” learning happens piecemeal: a YouTube video for the first chain swap, a Reddit thread for the headset adjustment, the bike-shop counter for the bottom bracket service. Each source is somebody else's procedure, somebody else's tools, somebody else's mistakes. The book + tools format is the alternative; one consistent procedure written by a working mechanic (Denise Belzil, 30+ years experience at Techno Cycle in Montreal), tools sized to the work, the same authority across the whole learning curve.
What's in the kit
-
Unior Bicycle Mechanics Book #1 (English-language edition, also available in French as a separate SKU)
- 274 pages
- Hubs (cartridge bearings, cup-and-cone, freehub body service)
- Bottom brackets (cartridge BBs, Hollowtech II, BSA30, T47, Italian thread)
- Headsets (threadless, integrated, tapered-steerer)
- Step-by-step photos at every procedure stage
- Spiral binding (lays flat on the workbench)
- Laminated pages (grease and water resistant)
- Unior chain tool (entry-level chain breaker for chain replacement work)
- Unior tire levers (two green plastic levers for tire mounting and removal)
The kit format means the home mechanic can start with the book's first chapter, follow it through, and have the right tools for the work; without having to source tools separately or guess at sizes.

Built in Zreče, Slovenia
Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The book-and-tools kit is the educational entry point to Unior's catalog; the same procedures the World Tour mechanics service on team bikes are documented in the same level of detail in Volume 1, with the photo-and-step structure that lets a home mechanic learn the procedure from the page and execute it on the bench.
Pro tip from our mechanics
Start with hubs. The hub overhaul is the procedure that teaches you to read bearing condition (smooth vs. notchy vs. crunchy), set bearing preload, and recognize when a bearing has reached the end of its working life. Once you've done a hub overhaul correctly, the bottom bracket and headset procedures in the same book become recognizable variations on the same theme; different sizes, same principles.
