Bike Tool Set in Tool Tray — Hex/Torx T-Handles & Screwdrivers (1600SOS27)
The tools a bench mechanic reaches for most often aren’t the specialty tools; they’re the T-handle hex wrenches and the screwdrivers that come out for every shifter cable, every brake-lever clamp, every cleat bolt, every cockpit adjustment. The Unior 1600SOS27 tray bundles the everyday hex, Torx, screwdriver, and awl inventory in one foam-cut drawer, sized to the working sizes that actually see the bench.
What’s in the tray
T-handle hex wrenches (193HX-US): 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 mm (8 wrenches); full range from stem face-plate bolt fasteners (4 mm) through crank-bolt access (8 mm).
T-handle Torx wrenches (193TX-US): T8, T10, T15, T20, T25, T27, T30 (7 wrenches); the everyday Torx range: small Di2 fasteners (T10), SRAM AXS shifter clamp bolts (T20, T25), rotor bolts (T25), modern chainring bolts (T30).
Insulated screwdrivers (VDE-rated to TBI insulation standard):
- Electrician’s flat-blade screwdriver (603VDETBI): 0.8 × 4.0 × 100 mm
- Crosstip (PH) screwdriver (613VDETBI): PH1 × 80 mm and PH2 × 100 mm (2 screwdrivers)
Awl:
- Awl with round, double-bent blade (639C): 165 mm; for cable-routing pickup and gasket-and-O-ring placement.
The tray ships with the empty foam shell (vl.1600SOS27, 564 × 364 × 30 mm) and the Made for Work label.
Why these tools share a tray
T-handle hex and Torx wrenches are the bench mechanic’s primary tools, in the way that “primary” means “used in 80% of service tickets.” The T-handle format trades a small amount of fitment versatility (you can’t reach every angle with a T-handle that a ball-end L-key reaches) for a large amount of speed; the T-handle’s two-hand grip and the rotational mechanical advantage shave seconds off every fastener engagement.
For the angle-restricted work the T-handle can’t reach, the 1600SOS23 tray carries the Y-handle and L-shape variants. The two trays complement: 1600SOS27 covers daily-driver everyday work; 1600SOS23 covers the corner cases.
Companion trays in the modular series:
- 1600SOS21; Hanger Alignment & Cable Pliers
- 1600SOS23; Sockets, Ratchets & Torque Wrench
- 1600SOS24; Cone Wrenches
- 1600SOS25; Crank, Cassette & Freewheel Tools
- 1600SOS26; Bottom Bracket, Spoke & Brake Tools

Built in Zreče, Slovenia
Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče, Slovenia, since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The T-handle hex and Torx tools in the 193HX-US and 193TX-US lines use hardened-and-tempered chrome-vanadium steel shanks with black-oxide tip treatment; the corrosion-and-fit profile that hex/Torx working tips need.
Pro tip from our mechanics
The 1600SOS27 is one of the two trays a new shop should specify on day one (alongside the drivetrain 1600SOS25 tray). Together they cover the everyday hex/Torx work and the everyday drivetrain work that account for most service tickets.
