How does the manually adjustable clamp work? On 1693AS you set the jaw opening by turning the long screw by hand, then put the open jaw on the seatpost or frame tube and turn the handle until it grips. Flip the handle to release. The jaw also rotates: release its lever and set the angle before you clamp.

What tube sizes and bike weights does it take? The jaws are rated for tubes from 24 mm to 40 mm in diameter. Maximum load capacity is 30 kg. Some bike makers advise against clamping thin-walled carbon frames; check the manufacturer and clean the tube before you clamp.
