Remote Control For 1693EL
Remote Control For 1693EL
The hands-free lift is the part of the 1693EL that earns its keep over the course of a workday. Between every step of a job; wheel out, wheel in, drop to floor height for the kickstand fitting, lift again for the cable run; the stand goes up and down. The control panel on the stand column is fine for one or two lifts. By the tenth move, the round-trip to the column starts costing you minutes.
The Remote Control 1693EL.20 puts the lift commands on a wireless remote that lives on the bench. Same lift / lower / hold / release functionality as the buttons on the stand panel; you operate them without leaving the work. The most practical use case is lifting and lowering the bike to a pre-set height limit, or holding the bike at any custom height with the press of one button.
Compatibility
The remote ships as a paired kit: the wireless remote unit plus a small circuit board that installs inside the stand's electronics housing. Installation takes a few minutes and requires no pairing or additional setup; the remote and the circuit board ship pre-keyed to each other.
The remote works with the V2 version of the 1693EL only; stands delivered from April 2021 onward, with the aluminum column and the updated control-board protocol. V1 stands (steel column, external cable run, no USB ports on the control panel) cannot pair with the 1693EL.20 because the V1 control board doesn't carry the protocol the remote uses. The wireless module's coded signal is unique to each kit, so two stands in the same room running their own remotes won't interfere with each other.

Built in Zreče, Slovenia
Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The 1693EL.20 is a Unior accessory designed and built to work with the Unior electric stand it pairs with; same factory, same engineering team, no third-party integration to fail at the first firmware bump. Most accessory adds to a powered tool come from somewhere else; this one comes from the same place the stand does.
Pro tip from our mechanics
The remote pays for itself faster than people expect. The break-even point in our shop was about a week; by then the round-trips to the column have added up to the kind of time you don't get back. If you're on the fence, the test is to count the number of times you operate the stand panel during a single job; if it's more than four, the remote is worth it. The e-bike service workflow is the use case that makes the remote pay back faster than analog service does, because the lift cadence is higher when the work cycle includes battery-out and battery-in steps. If you haven't bought the stand yet, the electric-stand inflection point is covered in the buying guide before the accessory math kicks in: How to choose a bike repair stand →
