Pro road repair stand, without plate
Pro road repair stand, without plate
The 1693RP1 is the Pro Road Stand built for a permanent floor-bolt install: the same five-axis geometry as the 5.1 kg traveling Pro Road Stand (1693R), without the 30 kg steel base plate that ships with the standalone shop version (1693RP). The stand bolts directly to the workshop floor, which is the lower-profile install for shops that own the slab and have permission to drill it.
A floor-bolted install pulls the stand's footprint down to the column base, which on a busy bench is the half-square-foot a 30 kg plate would otherwise occupy. The trade-off versus the plate-equipped 1693RP is permanence (the install requires concrete anchors and isn't relocated) for the gain of working floor space. For owner-occupied shops, that's usually the trade you want; for leased space where drilling isn't allowed, the plate variant (1693RP) is the right call.
The bike mount geometry is the same Pro Road Stand approach: support the bike at the bottom-bracket area instead of clamping a frame tube. That's the right geometry for TT bikes, aero road bikes, and any frame whose tube shapes are wrong for a clamp-style stand. Five-axis adjustability presents the bike to the mechanic in whatever orientation the job needs.
Adjustments
- Height: spans the 5′0″ to 6′5″ mechanic range without crouching or stretching.
- Fore-aft: dials in the bike's stand position relative to the mechanic's reach.
- X-axis rotation: at the column, opens up cramped service bays.
- Z-axis rotation: at the bike support, swings the bike for back-side access without unmounting.
- Y-axis rotation: at the bike, accesses the underside for cable routing or hidden-brake service.

Built in Zreče, Slovenia
Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The Pro Road Stand line was shaped by team-mechanic service-truck feedback before it became a shop bench fixture; the 1693RP1 is the configuration that takes the same geometry into a permanent floor install for shops that have committed to road and aero-road service as part of their daily mix.
Pro tip from our mechanics
The plate-or-floor-bolt decision is usually a property-rights decision more than a workflow decision. Owner-occupied shops bolt to the floor and skip the plate; leased shops buy the plate and stay above the slab. The stand itself is the same, the install is the cost difference. For shops weighing the 1693RP1 against the 1693RP, that's the cleanest framing of the trade-off. Still weighing whether the road stand is the right format versus a tripod?
