Pro Socket Handle

A full-size 1/2" ratchet is overkill for half the workshop turns a mechanic actually makes. The Pro Socket Handle is the lighter, simpler answer; a 250 mm-long T-style handle that drives any 1/2" socket with enough leverage for fork top caps, cassette lockrings, and pedal-bench sockets, while saving about a third of a pound (152 g) versus a 190.1/ABI ratchet in the same tool roll.

For a traveling mechanic, that third of a pound matters. So does the smaller footprint when the tool roll has to fit beside a frame in a car. The handle works as the second-position driver in a workshop too; paired with one of our flat sockets, it is what the suspension service procedure assumes you are reaching for at the bench.

What this handle drives

• Any 1/2" drive socket, including chamferless flat sockets for fork top caps, cassette lockring tools, and 16-notch BB sockets.
• Pairs cleanly with the Flat Socket for Suspension Forks for the fork-top-cap step of a lower-leg service.

The spring-loaded ball bearing on the drive end keeps the socket from falling off mid-turn; a small detail that matters when working under a fork lower with one hand.

Pro tip from our mechanics

The Pro Socket Handle is what the lower-leg service guide assumes you are using to drive the flat socket. The traveling-mechanic case is the secondary one; what makes the handle worth keeping on the bench is the compactness when bench depth is short and a long ratchet won't clear the frame.
