A wheel service ticket runs through three steps in order: get the wheel out of the dropouts, true it, get the tire on or off. Each step has a different tool kit, and a single missing wrench (the wrong spoke-wrench size, the rotor truing fork for the wrong rotor diameter, the tire lever that can’t engage a stubborn bead) stops the work. The SET3-2600AC Wheel Tools tray for the Unior 2600A and 2600C benches consolidates the wheel-service tool kit into a single foam-cut bench drawer.
What’s in the tray
Spoke wrenches (full range across modern spoke nipple sizes):
- Cone wrench, single-sided (1617/2DP-US); for hub-cone service alongside spoke work.
- DT Swiss pro spoke wrench (1630/4DTPR); Squorx pattern, DT-specific.
- Flat spoke holder (1632); holds aero/bladed spokes against rotation while the nipple turns.
- Pro spoke wrench (1633/2P-US); premium-grip standard four-flat spoke wrench.
- Double-sided Shimano® spoke wrench (1634/2P-US); Shimano-specific spoke nipple geometry.
- Spoke wrench, Mavic (1635/2P-US); Mavic 6.4 mm four-flat.
- Double-sided spoke wrench (1636/2P-US); 5.5 / 6 mm.
Tire service:
- Set of two metal tire levers (1657/2A); for the stubborn-bead tires that plastic levers can’t budge.
- Set of two tire levers, red (1657RED); plastic levers for everyday tubeless and clincher work.
Disc-brake rotor:
- Rotor truing fork (1666/2DP-US); for straightening a bent rotor at the bench rather than replacing it.
The tray ships with the empty foam shell (VL3-2600AC).
Why this is the wheel tray
The wheel-service workflow is one of the most reach-into-different-drawers workflows a bench mechanic runs. Mounting a Shimano wheel one minute, a DT Swiss wheel the next, a Mavic wheel after lunch; each needs a different spoke-wrench size, and the differences are 0.1 mm and matter. The SET3-2600AC carries every modern spoke-wrench size in one drawer; the tire levers and rotor truing fork add the parts the workflow needs to finish.
For shops doing high-volume wheel building (not just truing), the dedicated Master Wheel Building Kit 1754 extends beyond what fits in a single tray. For drivetrain work alongside wheel service, the SET2-2600AC Drivetrain Tools tray is the natural companion drawer.
Compatibility
Sized for the bench-integrated 990WD7 drawer in the Unior 2600A and 2600C workbenches. Drops into the standalone 990WD7 wide tool chest for shops running the cabinet outside a bench.
Built in Zreče, Slovenia
Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and sponsors professional road and mountain-bike race teams. The Rotor Truing Fork 1666/2DP in this tray uses the laser-cut tool-steel construction that the Unior wheel-tools line is built around; workshop-grade slot tolerances, not consumer-grade.
Pro tip from our mechanics
SET3-2600AC is the tray a shop adds second, after SET1 general tools and SET2 drivetrain. Wheel service is the third most common service category for most shops; once a shop sees enough wheel work to bill it as a category, the tray’s per-service time savings compound.
