Bench vises for the bike shop

A bench vise is the second tool a shop buys after the repair stand. Cutting a steerer, trimming a seatpost, pressing a shock bushing or holding a stem for a clamp-face scribe all want the part held rigid, and a stand clamp is not built for that. The Irongator bench vise comes in 125 mm and 150 mm jaw widths, both with a quick release for fast jaw adjustment. The 125 mm suits road and gravel work and smaller benches; the 150 mm is the size for shops that see downhill-class hardware.

Fit the aluminum soft jaws before clamping aluminum, titanium or anything with a finish you care about, and add the swivel base to turn the work to the job instead of re-clamping. For hub axles, the axle vise in Hub and Axle Tools protects the threads.
