Suspension service is two service categories sharing one bench. There’s the suspension-specific work (seal drivers, oil syringes, damper-assembly pin spanners) and there’s the general-tools work that surrounds it (digital calipers, awls, hex wrenches, hammers, insulated screwdrivers). The SET1-2600D tray loads the general-tools half into one foam-cut drawer for the Unior Suspension Workbench 2600D.

What’s in the tray

  • Digital caliper (270A); for measuring damper shaft diameters, seal head ODs, and the dozens of “is this the right part” moments in fork-and-shock service.
  • Suspension wrench with strap (1705/2DP-US); strap-style holding for cylindrical damper bodies that round profile wrenches can’t grip without damage.
  • Valve core remover (1755/2); for the Schrader-valve air-spring chambers on most modern forks and shocks.
  • Hex wrench (220/3); standard L-key hex range.
  • Set of Torx wrenches with hole, in plastic clip (220/7TXPH); security-Torx capable, full size range.
  • T-handle hex wrench (193HX-US); everyday T-handle hex.
  • T-handle TX wrench (193TX-US); everyday T-handle Torx.
  • Adjustable spanner wrench (253/2DP-US); for the variety of locknut sizes a fork’s air-spring assembly presents.
  • Flat tweezers (1344); for o-ring and seal-pickup work, where the part is too small for fingers.

Awls (full angle range for cable-routing pickup and gasket-and-O-ring placement):

  • Awl with round, straight blade (639A); for straight-shot access.
  • Awl with round, 90° bent blade (639B); for around-the-corner access.
  • Awl with round, double-bent blade (639C); for deep-cavity work.
  • Awl with round, double-bent small blade (639D); for tighter cavities.

Hammers:

  • Plastic hammer (820); for tap-fit installs without metal-on-metal damage.
  • Locksmith’s hammer (812); for the small percussive moves a suspension teardown sometimes requires.

Insulated screwdrivers (VDE-rated):

  • Electrician’s screwdriver with insulated blade (603VDETBI); flat-blade.
  • Crosstip (PH) screwdriver with insulated blade (613VDETBI); Phillips.

The tray ships with the empty foam shell (vl1-2600D); replacement shells available separately.

Why suspension service needs a dedicated general-tools tray

A general-purpose general-tools tray (the SET1-2600AC) exists for the dry-mechanical bench; the SET1-2600D is its suspension counterpart. The differences reflect the suspension workflow’s specific demands:

  • Strap wrench instead of an open-end wrench; damper bodies don’t take open-end-wrench geometry without damage.
  • Adjustable spanner instead of a fixed-size; fork air-spring locknuts come in too many sizes to stock individually.
  • Four awl variants instead of one; suspension o-rings sit in deeper cavities than drivetrain seals.
  • Tweezers; the o-ring-and-spacer parts in a fork or shock are smaller than the equivalent parts in a derailleur or BB.

For the suspension-specific tools (seal drivers, oil syringes, damper-assembly tools), the SET2-2600D tray carries the next layer.

Compatibility

Sized for the bench-integrated drawer in the Unior 2600D Suspension Workbench. Also fits the standalone 990WD7 wide tool chest for shops running suspension service from a separate cabinet.

Built in Zreče, Slovenia

Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče, Slovenia, since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The suspension-tool line is the same in-house manufacturing chain as the drivetrain and brake tool lines, sized for the workflow demands of fork and shock service.

Pro tip from our mechanics

The SET1-2600D is the everyday tray for a suspension station; pull it for every fork or shock service, regardless of which specialty tools the job needs from the SET2-2600D tray or the dedicated suspension specialized tools.
