Suspension service needs a second general-tools tray alongside the SET1-2600D, because the workflow uses more wrench sizes and styles than a single tray comfortably holds. The SET2-2600D loads the rest of the everyday wrench range needed for suspension service into a second foam-cut bench drawer in the Unior Suspension Workbench 2600D.
What’s in the tray
- Cone wrench, single-sided (1617/2DP-US); for hub-cone work alongside fork-and-shock service.
- Adjustable wrench (250/1); for the variety of locknut sizes air-spring assemblies present that the SET1’s adjustable spanner doesn’t cover.
- Open-end wrench (110/1); for standard hex-head fastener access where damper geometry allows.
- Flat wrench for suspension service (1706/2DP-US); flat-profile spanner for narrow-clearance fork crown work.
- Suspension wrench with strap (1705/2DP-US); second strap wrench, sized for parallel two-side damper holding.
- Measuring tape (710R-US); for measuring stanchion length, axle dimensions, and reference-fit distances.
The tray ships with the empty foam shell (vl2-2600D).
Why a second general-tools tray
A suspension service ticket typically involves two simultaneous workflows: the air-spring teardown on one side of the fork, the damper teardown on the other. Both want the same general-tool category at the same time (a wrench in each hand), so the tray system splits the general-tools inventory across two trays; pull both, work both sides simultaneously, slide both back. The SET1-2600D carries the primary inventory; the SET2-2600D carries the duplicates and the additional wrench styles that the parallel-work pattern needs.
The two trays together replace what would otherwise be three open drawers in a non-tray bench: open-end wrenches, adjustable spanners, and strap wrenches. The foam-cut tray approach keeps each tool in fixed position even when the drawer slides closed and the bench shifts.
Compatibility
Sized for the bench-integrated drawer in the Unior 2600D Suspension Workbench. Also fits the standalone 990WD7 wide tool chest for shops servicing suspension from a separate cabinet.
Built in Zreče, Slovenia
Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and sponsors professional road and mountain-bike race teams. The flat suspension wrench (1706/2DP-US) is sized for the narrow-clearance crown and damper-body work that fork service demands; the strap wrench (1705/2DP-US) is the strap-style holding tool that doesn’t mar the cylindrical damper bodies a fixed-jaw wrench can damage.
Pro tip from our mechanics
The SET2-2600D pairs with the SET1-2600D rather than replacing it; both trays live in the suspension bench, and a single service ticket typically pulls both. Our broader workshop-setup guide covers the tray-loadout decisions for a suspension station: How to set up a professional bike workshop →
