The bottom bracket standards war produced roughly a dozen cup interfaces that all mount a crank and none of which share a tool. Add the spoke nipple sizes that vary by wheel brand and the disc-brake service that arrived with every bike after about 2015, and you have three service categories that a general tool drawer cannot cover. The Unior 1600SOS18-US carries all three: the BB socket run, the spoke wrench run, and the brake and tire tools.

Where the 1600SOS18-US fits in the system
This is the widest-coverage tray in the legacy 1600SOS13–19 series, and the one that decides whether a bench can take on bottom bracket work at all. It pairs with the 1600SOS17-US for a complete drivetrain strip, and with the 1600SOS16-US cone wrenches for a full wheel bench. The rest of the series:
- 1600SOS13-US; hanger alignment and cable work
- 1600SOS14-US; combination wrenches, pliers and measuring
- 1600SOS15-US; hex, Torx, sockets and torque
- 1600SOS19-US; T-handles and screwdrivers
Compatibility
Tray shell 564 × 364 × 30 mm, the standard Unior SOS footprint, available separately as part 629208. The BB sockets in this tray drive off a 1/2" ratchet, which is carried in the 1600SOS17-US. Measure your drawer's clear internal dimensions before ordering.
Built in Zreče, Slovenia
Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and sponsors professional road and mountain-bike race teams. The spoke wrench sizes here are specified to the tenth of a millimetre for a reason: a 3.3 mm wrench on a 3.45 mm nipple rounds the flats on the first quarter turn, and a rounded nipple on a built wheel is a rebuild.
Pro tip from our mechanics
Sort the spoke wrenches by wheel brand, not by size, when you set the tray up. Nobody at the truing stand thinks "I need 4.3 by 4.4"; they think "this is a Shimano wheel". The foam silhouettes hold position, so whichever mental index you use is the one that sticks. More on organising by workflow: How to set up a professional bike workshop →
