The Master Tool Kit Case (970MASTERKIT) is the heavy-duty composite case that ships under the previous-generation Master Tool Kit, sold separately for mechanics who already own a tool inventory and want to consolidate into a kit-grade storage system. Pre-2.0 generation case with the same composite construction and the same wheels-and-retractable-handle build; the published spec sheet is identical to the 2.0 relaunch apart from the article code and 100 g of listed weight.

The case is the same heavy-duty composite that ships under the previous-generation Master Tool Kit. Designed in conjunction with professional users; sized to roll into a paddock or a workshop and open into a working bench.

What the case carries

A thoughtful pocket-and-SOS-foam-tray layout sized to a full pro tool inventory. The case is built for practical and secure organisation: pockets accept the tools that need to stay at hand, SOS foam trays accept the larger workshop tools that need their own footprint, and the case still leaves room for brand-specific additions a particular workshop runs.

Case features

  • Heavy-duty plastic case, water and dustproof
  • Wheels and a retractable handle for transport
  • Designed in conjunction with professional users for shop, mobile, team, or demanding home-mechanic workflows

Specs

  • Empty case version of the previous-generation Master Tool Kit — 585 × 361 × 238 mm, 9,400 g empty
  • Designed and tested in conjunction with professional mechanics
  • Waterproof and dustproof composite construction (IP67 certificate)
  • Built-in wheels and retractable handle
  • 44-pocket lid and three SOS foam trays that fit 50 or more tools — a layout sized for a full pro tool inventory

Includes: the case, the 44-pocket lid, two 280 × 250 mm side trays, the 385 × 280 mm bottom SOS foam tray, and the small parts organizer. Tools sold separately.

Built in Zreče, Slovenia

Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and sponsors professional road and mountain-bike race teams. The Master Tool Kit Case is the storage half of the kit that travels with team mechanics on the road; sold separately for mechanics who want the case without the configured tool set.

Pro tip from our mechanics

If the workshop standardizes on the current-generation 2.0 kits, the Master Kit Tool Case 2.0 is the current production run of this case; its published specs — 44-pocket lid, three SOS foam trays, IP67 rating, 585 × 361 × 238 mm — are identical to this one, with listed weight moving from 9,400 to 9,500 g. The 970MASTERKIT (this case) is the right answer when the workshop has been running on the previous-generation Master Kit format and the case has finally given out.

FAQ

Does the 970MASTERKIT case come with any tools? No. This is the empty previous-generation Master Kit case, sold for mechanics who equip it with their own selection. The 44 lid pockets take T-handle hexes up to size 10 and safety-tight small pockets hold L-shaped hexes down to size 1.5, while the three SOS foam trays fit 50 or more tools.

How is this case different from the Master Kit Tool Case 2.0? Unior's published specifications are identical across the two generations: the same 585 × 361 × 238 mm shell, 44-pocket lid, three SOS foam trays, small parts organizer, and IP67 rating. The listed differences are the article code (629068 here vs 640071) and the empty weight, 9,400 g here vs 9,500 g for the 2.0.

Is the small parts organizer included with this case? Yes. Unior's spec sheet for this case lists 44 pockets, three SOS foam trays, and the small parts organizer. The organizer carries 3 compartments with modular dividers that build up to 21 sections, and it is also sold separately as 970MASTERKIT-ORG.

How does the case hold up to travel and weather? The heavy-duty composite shell is waterproof and dustproof in accordance with the IP67 certificate, with a watertight seal around the lid and an automatic pressure-release valve. Velcro-strap lid flaps secure tools in transit, the case rolls on built-in wheels with a retractable handle and safety latch, and it can be locked with a padlock (not included).
